| 1958 | First Federal celebrated the Grand Opening of their location at Sixth and Pierce |

| 1962 | Prouty Linn was elected First Federal Savings and Loan President | |
| 1964 | First Federal opened Morningside location | |

| 1972 | L. Norman Sloan elected President | |
| 1974 | Le Mars Federal and First Federal merged |

| 1985 | First Federal purchased old Younkers building at Third and Pierce Street | |
| 1985 | First Federal merged with Home Federal Savings and Loan of Sioux City |

| 1996 | Singing Hills location opened in Sioux City |

| 1998 | First Federal Bank acquired Grinnell Federal Savings Bank | |
| 1998 | South Sioux City branch opened | |
| 1999 | First Federal's mutual holding company converted to a full-stock ownership corporation | |
| 1999 | First Federal acquired Mid-Iowa Financial Corporation resulting in four Central Iowa locations | |
| 2005 | A new location was opened in Johnston, Iowa |

| 2007 | First Federal Bank became Vantus Bank | |
| 2007 | Vantus Bank opens a location in the Jordan Creek area of West Des Moines, Iowa | |

| 2008 | Barry Backhaus was named President and CEO on an interim basis |
